Intelligent Building Skins

developed for Autodesk

As a Senior Design Project Adviser for Autodesk, we worked closely together to develop the variable solar shading device. The design of intelligent building skins – systems of building envelope elements that dynamically respond to environmental conditions to optimize the building’s energy performance and usability – achieved through polarized sheets mounted to rollers allows for flexible and dynamic facades that can respond to multiple environmental needs within the building.
